Dr Claudia Psaila, Head of the Department of Social Policy & Social Work within the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta, recently visited as a recipient of the Building International Collaborations Supports (BICS) funding. Hosted by the , the BICS initiative fosters global partnerships between Geary members and international researchers.
Dr Psaila was nominated by (UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice). During the visit, she collaborated with international colleagues on future research initiatives and delivered a keynote seminar titled 'Spirituality: A Critical Dimension in Social Work'.
Her presentation offered a thought-provoking exploration of spirituality as an under-examined yet vital component of holistic and culturally responsive practice.
Beyond her research engagements, Dr Psaila shared her insights with Master of Social Work students through a dedicated seminar, fostering a deeper dialogue on spirituality in practice.
The visit represents a significant step in strengthening the academic and professional ties between the University of Malta and UCD.
