Lecture on Soviet architecture in Ukraine

Alex Bykov, a Ukraine architect and member of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic, delivered a lecture on Soviet Architecture in Ukraine to students reading history and theory of architecture at the Faculty for the Built Environment.

Other engagements included participation in research seminars and dissertation tutorials relating to the contemporary theory of architecture.

Bykov's academic and research focuses on Soviet architectural modernism in his native Ukraine, with a particular emphasis on architectural photography as both a study method and a pedagogical tool.

His visit was realised through the Erasmus+ Teaching Staff Mobility. The Faculty for the Built Environment hosted him from 20 April to 24 April 2026.
