Dr Glen Attard (b. 1986) holds an Associateship Diploma in Music (A.L.C.M.) from the London College of Music, awarded in 2003 for his specialisation in piano performance. He holds a Bachelor in Sacred Theology (S.Th.B. 2010) degree from the University of Malta, followed by a Licentiate (S.Th.L. 2012) and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology (S.Th.D. 2019), both from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, with a focus on the mystagogy of the Russian polymath Pavel Florensky. Attard studied Russian in St Petersburg, Russia, where he also gave Public Lectures and participated in Experts' Meetings on Pavel Florensky at the Russian Christian Humanitarian Academy of St Petersburg. He has delivered lectures and interviews on both Florensky and the field of Spirituality in Malta and abroad. Attard is a Resident Academic of the Faculty of Theology and a member of the Department of Moral Theology. His lectures focus on Spirituality from an inter- and multidisciplinary point of view. He is the Course Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Spirituality and a member of the Professional Ethics Platform. He served the Maltese Carmelite Province as Provincial Archivist and Secretary (2015-21) and Executive Director of the Carmelite Institute Malta (2018-24). He is also a member of the internationally acclaimed Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality, a member of the European Society of Catholic Theologians, and the founder of the Maltese Association for the Study of Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship, founded in 2019.
