| Abstract: | PURPOSE: The aim of the research was to examine and develop a typology of smart
specializations in European regions. Such a typology is essential to compare regions in
terms of the adopted innovation strategies and to assess their performance after the
implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: Since smart specializations refer to 82 industries, we applied principal component analysis (PCA) to reduce the number of industries on the one hand and to find a typology of a limited number of unique specializations on the other. Horn's parallel analysis indicated a maximum number of fifteen components (potential specializations in the typology). FINDINGS: After analyzing fifteen components defined in PCA, twelve pointed to meaningful and explainable specializations that can be grouped into five domains of the typology, tourism, ICT, health, transportation, and environment. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: Since countries and regions define their specializations very differently (narrowly or broadly), the typology developed in the study enables to articulate diverse specializations using one common language and to compare the performance of regions that have chosen one or more identical specializations. °¿¸é±õ³Ò±õ±·´¡³¢±õ°Õ³Û³æ2¹ó;³Õ´¡³¢±«·¡:³æ20;°Õ³ó±ð³æ20;±ð³æ¾±²õ³Ù¾±²Ô²µ³æ20;±ô¾±³Ù±ð°ù²¹³Ù³Ü°ù±ð³æ20;±ô²¹³¦°ì²õ³æ20;²¹³æ20;³¦´Ç³¾³¾´Ç²Ô³æ20;³Ù²â±è´Ç±ô´Ç²µ²â³æ20;´Ç´Ú³æ20;²õ³¾²¹°ù³Ù³æ0¶Ù;³æ0´¡;²õ±è±ð³¦¾±²¹±ô¾±³ú²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô²õ,³æ20;·É³ó¾±³¦³ó³æ20;³¾²¹²â³æ20;²ú±ð³æ20;±ð²õ²õ±ð²Ô³Ù¾±²¹±ô³æ20;¾±²Ô³æ20;³Ù³ó±ð³æ20;³Ü±è³¦´Ç³¾¾±²Ô²µ³æ20;±ð±¹²¹±ô³Ü²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô³æ20;´Ç´Ú³æ20;³Ù³ó±ð³æ20;·¡³Ü°ù´Ç±è±ð³æ20;2020³æ0¶Ù;³æ0´¡;²õ³Ù°ù²¹³Ù±ð²µ²â³æ20;²¹²Ô»å³æ20;³Ù³ó±ð³æ20;±è±ð°ù´Ú´Ç°ù³¾²¹²Ô³¦±ð³æ20;´Ç´Ú³æ20;°ù±ð²µ¾±´Ç²Ô²õ³æ20;²¹´Ú³Ù±ð°ù³æ20;³Ù³ó±ð³æ20;2014–2020³æ20;±è±ð°ù¾±´Ç»å. |
