Abstract: Through their transitional period from childhood to adulthood, young people become aware of the political dimensions of their lives and of the concept of power. They develop an understanding that within any setting some people have more power and are stronger than others. This research project will show whether Maltese youth commit themselves to political ideologies on the basis of internalisation or ideological compliance. It will analyse the selective ways in which youth filter, modify, reject and internalise political attitudes.
