| Abstract: | This paper documents efforts being made at the National Archives of Malta to map the twentieth-century history of Maltese archives and libraries. It tries to identify and document the valuable roles played by individuals in the development of libraries and archives infrastructure in the late-colonial and post-Independence Malta. This particular paper, written for the seminar celebrating the academic contribution of Professor Laura Giambastiani focuses on the Italian influence on the training of Maltese archivists. It primarily highlights the contribution of Benedictine Mauro Inguanez and others whose professional training framed their archival principles, thinking and application. |
