| Abstract: | The libretto for the 3-act opera "La Sonnambula", written by librettist Felice Romani, as was performed at the Royal Theatre Malta (AKA the Royal Opera House) in 1893. The opera featured music composed by Vincenzo Bellini, which was performed by an orchestra directed by Signor Pietro Stermich in the rendition this libretto was created for. This rendition of the opera also included cast members Signa. Vittoria Repetto, Signa. Rosa Villareal, Sigra. Erm Gadotti, Signor Baldo Teavaglini, Signor Oreste Gennari, Signor Giovanni Baldo, and Signor Giov. De Martino. The libretto was published at the printing press at 133, Strada Fiorini. |
| Description: | The libretto's script is both in Italian and English. The libretto is missing pages 7-10, and has misprints that present the opera as a 2-act lyric drama (rather than the 3-act drama it is), which have been fixed with pencil. The libretto also included a separate paper with a note highlighting particular scenes, added after the creation of the libretto. The document was donated by Nicolette Zammit Lupi on behalf of the Zammit Lupi/Montanaro Gauci family. |
