Implementation of the ISTH framework for professional conduct

Abstract

Professional conduct, including principles of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and conflict of interest (COI, previously introduced in [1]), underpins the mission, values and all activities of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). In recognition of the critical importance of professional conduct, the ISTH has developed a one-stop resource for all matters relating to conduct, DEI and COI: the ISTH Framework for Professional Conduct [2]. Here, links are provided to the ISTH mission, its core values, statement on DEI, COI policy and code of conduct including main policies for these missioncritical aspects of the ISTH community. Additionally, valuable training modules and helpful tools (e.g. to assess COI) are available so that informed decisions can be reached. We encourage all members of the Society to use these resources and become familiar with the Code of Conduct, DEI and COI policies, training and tools. This commentary aims to introduce the key resources for Professional Conduct available to the Society and its membership. [excerpt]
