Method: Employing a qualitative research methodology, the study conducted in-depth interviews with six affected individuals. The data gathered from these semi-structured interviews was analyzed by means of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Three superordinate themes emerged from the comprehensive analysis of the interviews: Discovery, Reaching Rock Bottom, and New Hope and New Beginnings. Conclusion: The current study discusses data relating to the discovery of the gambling disorder and the extensive impact of gambling disorder on affected individuals. It considers the coping strategies and newfound resilience exhibited by affected partners as they navigated this challenging aspect of their lives. This study prioritizes the narratives and experiences of the participants, aligning with the principles of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. It also presents both the strengths and limitations of the research, along with recommendations for future research and policy considerations. |
