| Abstract: | This handwritten botanical notebook focused on the study of lichens (licheni). The text is primarily in Italian, with consistent use of Latin for scientific nomenclature, and a few pages written in English. The author compiled notes and scholarly references from foundational botanical works including including, Elementi di Botanica by F. Pasquale (1884), the Encyclopedia of Plants by J.C. Loudon (1829), and Flora Italica Cryptogama. Pars III: Lichenes by A. Jatta (1909-1911). |

The notebook includes five folded inserted notes, some numbered: Note 1: Cenni intorno la flora di Malta Bibliografia Note 2: Remarks on erbari, including historical value of herbaria Note 3 & 4: Continuation on piante speciali, particularly of the Maltese Islands Unnumbered Thick Note: Contains a glossary-style list of botanical terms (e.g., Randalina durieri, Xanshoia pranterna, Lenden annelala), possibly specimen references or taxonomic terms" Latin is used throughout the notebook for the scientific nomenclature and taxonomic classification of botanical species, following standard binomial botanical conventions.
