Abstract: This study aimed to recreate the DiHubMT coworking space in Malta as a virtual 3D environment and explore how this model might be used for remote access, orientation, and collaboration. The main objective was to see whether a digital version of a real office can help people interact with a space they have not physically visited yet, which would be particularly useful in hybrid work and study formats. The research began with a basic version of the model, created from architectural floor plans. This early stage revealed a number of problems, including missing measurements, inaccurate lighting, and navigation issues. After collecting early feedback, the model was rebuilt with corrected proportions, improved materials, and more realistic assets. Unity was used to build the scene, while the Spatial platform made it accessible online. User testing was carried out with a group of 21 people from different professions. Each participant was asked to perform simple tasks inside the virtual space, such as locating a lab or entering a studio. The feedback helped identify key points where users got lost or disoriented. Those unfamiliar with 3D spaces found movement difficult and often did not notice interactive objects. Several features were added in response which made the environment easier to understand, especially for end-users without a technical background. This work suggests that digital office models can offer more than visual walkthroughs, they can support learning, communication, and even onboarding. While the technical setup still needs refinement, the direction is clear: giving people a meaningful way to explore and interact with spaces, which they are not physically in, has real potential.
