Abstract: This reflective article on the Second Sunday of Easter (Divine Mercy Sunday) explores the Gospel account of Doubting Thomas examining the wounds of the Risen Christ (John 20:19-31). It argues that the current state of global politics and economics stems from a loss of "Easter imaginaries," where belief in Christ's resurrection could foster forgiveness, mercy, and neighborly love. Drawing on the evocative image of Thomas, the piece highlights God's woundedness as a source of mercy for humanity. References to Vincent Leclercq's Blessed are the Vulnerable and Luigino Bruni's The Wound and the Blessing emphasize wounds as dual realities of vulnerability and potential blessing, transforming personal and societal frictions into life-giving encounters when lived in Christ. The article calls for embracing resurrection signs to perceive victory over sin and death.
