Abstract: Throughout the years, pension's schemes have helped elder people who have stopped working to live a life without major financial problems. From the induction of pension schemes in Malta, a sum started to be deducted from one's pay in order for him to 'pay' for current pensions. However, whilst the standard of living is always increasing is this sum enough for a person to maintain the same life they had pre-retirement? This research will deal with how Maltese pensioners are dealing with their pensions given and if they are coping comfortably or not. The study is focused on a seaside village of Marsacala and through a questionnaire the respondents will be asked on their expenses, lifestyle and choices. This study will also try to look if there are certain social groups within pensioners which have a tendency of having a better lifestyle than others.
