| Abstract: | The people of the Maltese Islands are world-renowned for several good characteristics, one of which is their intense love for children. Maltese mothers toil from dawn till dusk to turn their dwellings into pleasant homes while their husbands readily take on overtime work at their place of permanent employment as well as part-time jobs as opportunities arise and their free time allows. All this extra hardship is welcomed so that, as we Maltese usually say, "nothing agreeable is missed by the family at home" through lack of ready cash. [excerpt] |
