Abstract: In our last editorial the Junior Minister for Financial 福利在线免费, Digital Economy and Innovation within the OPM, Silvio Schembri, discussed the transformation of healthcare through AI. Indeed, the percolation of Al and machine learning technologies in healthcare may effectively translate in a cornucopia of applications. AI certainly has a role in the prediction of pharmaceutical properties of molecular compounds as well as the identification of disease-modifying targets. In previous editorials we have also discussed at length how Al can improving diagnostic accuracy in clinical practice whilst reducing the time needed to achieve such diagnosis. This results in improved patient outcomes and, on a societal level, a decrease in cost of care. In keeping with this, recently the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Chris Fearne stated that in 2020 Malta will be introducing a monitoring system for children with diabetes... operated with AI.
