| Abstract: | The study explored different ways in which StoryJumper can enhance students` creativity in writing. Creative writing is a significant area in the educational development of the learners. The impact of StoryJumper was analysed by the implementation of a resource pack in the primary classroom. Besides, interviews were conducted to gather feedback and information about participants` views regarding creative writing lessons. This feedback was collected both during and after the implementation of the resource pack. Our observations and interviews provided sufficient evidence that the implementation of the resource pack was quite successful. Indeed, in the primary classroom children become more creative and, when they get used to work on StoryJumper, it takes them less time to write. These five creative writing lessons were very productive and effective as they achieved the goals for which they had been planned. This achievement can be credited largely to the thoughtful choice of the software application, StoryJumper. Other reasons for the success of the sessions were the genre-based titles; other games and online activities; good lesson planning and delivery, as well as the pupils` co-operation. It is recommended that educators are exposed to the methods and resources available on the net because digital literacy can be a source to stimulate children in the writing programme. |
