Abstract: This Long Assignment looks into the Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) project that was embarked upon, by the University of Malta Library (UOML), in 2008. The Introduction gives an in-depth background of the project so far, which is actually referred to, by UOML, as the "Digitization of Dissertations" project. The Literature Review addresses the advantages and the disadvantages, as well as the formats of ETDS, as adopted by foreign universities. The Methodology adopted for Data Collection takes a qualitative as well as a quantitative approach, specifically using structured-interviews directed at Faculties and surveys sent to students as users at large and to final-year students from faculties who have adopted the ETD project and who are submitting their dissertations in digital format. The objective of the Long Assignment is to gauge attitudes from different stakeholders, about the UOML's ETD project and to determine whether any adjustments, at any stage of the process, are warranted.
