| Abstract: | This dissertation describes the design and construction of an automatic control unit for power factor correction in an installation. It monitors the load and power factor and when necessary automatically switches on or switches off a combination of static capacitors in order to maintain the power factor to a prescribed value. The unit is suitable for use on 415 Volts, 50 Hz, 3 phase supply. |
