Abstract: The aim of this long essay is to illustrate the fact that our physical state can be improved by fitness exercises. Fitness is a physical state of well-being that allows people to perform their daily activities with vigour, and reduce their risks of health problems. The early part of this work deals with what is considered as being physically fit. Today, we no longer talk about motor performance but we stress about good general health. Later on in Chapter 2, the health-related fitness components are dealt with in some detail. The way the research was implemented is shown in Chapter 3 along with a detailed description of the fitness tests and physical exercises used during the study.
