Abstract: This research sought to explore the impact of some judgements of the European Court of Human Rights on youth-specific issues. It has identified, described and analysed three areas of concern to youth namely, forced domestic servitude, the right to education when this comes in conflict with other socially relevant interests, and detention of minors pending criminal investigation and charges. The Court extended its protection to two out of these three applicants but denied it to the third applicant as it considered the social interest to be more compelling than the individual's fundamental right to education. This study aimed at awakening awareness to the international remedies available to young people whose rights have been disregarded or violated.
