Prof. Abhishek Gupta, LM Thapar School of Management, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, Punjab, INDIA.
Prof. Gupta's Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility visit to the University of Malta, Msida Campus, was an enriching and professionally rewarding experience.
During his stay, Prof. Gupta, delivered eight teaching hours focused primarily on E-Business Systems, bringing an Indian perspective to contemporary digital transformation initiatives and business technology adoption.
The sessions also explored the critical role of Change Management in ensuring the successful implementation of business systems, with discussions on embedding change interventions within project frameworks to enhance stakeholder adoption and organisational outcomes.
The students actively engaged in thought-provoking discussions, relating these concepts to their own academic and project work. It was particularly encouraging to witness their interest in integrating change management elements into their ongoing and future projects.
These interactions were further enriched through discussions with senior faculty members, including Prof. Lalit Garg, who shared valuable insights on interdisciplinary research and teaching approaches.
Beyond the classroom, Prof. Gupta had the opportunity to interact with research scholars across various disciplines, gaining a deeper understanding of the research culture and academic ecosystem at the University of Malta.
The exchange of ideas opened avenues for future collaboration and
mutual learning. As a continuation of these engagements, Prof. Gupta committed to organising a virtual Hackathon and project mentoring sessions for interested students who may wish to further develop the change management dimensions of their projects discussed during his visit.
Equally memorable was the opportunity to experience the rich European academic and cultural environment embraced by the university community, both on campus and at the Campus Hub.
The students demonstrated an impressive balance between global outlook and local cultural identity, creating a vibrant and inclusive learning atmosphere. The exposure to diverse teaching and learning methodologies, student engagement practices, and cross-cultural interactions provided valuable learnings that Prof. Gupta intends to incorporate into his own teaching and mentoring approaches in India.
Overall, the Erasmus+ mobility experience strengthened academic ties, fostered intercultural understanding, and reinforced the immense value of international collaboration in higher education.
Prof. Gupta looks forward to more such opportunities in the future.
