The MA in Global Maritime Archaeology within the Department of Classics and Archaeology at the University of Malta has achieved a significant international milestone. On 9 June, during a meeting held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, it was unanimously admitted as a Full Member of the .
The UNESCO UNITWIN (University Twinning and Networking) programme promotes international cooperation and knowledge exchange among higher education institutions and research centres worldwide. It brings together leading institutions from around the world that are engaged in education, research, and capacity building in the field of maritime cultural heritage.
The admission of the University of Malta's MA in Global Maritime Archaeology as a Full Member represents international recognition of the programme's achievements over the past decade. Since its establishment, the programme has developed a strong reputation for excellence in teaching, research, and fieldwork, attracting students and collaborators from around the world.
