How can Malta and the EU as a whole ensure a reliable supply of electricity at affordable prices while respecting the climate and environmental goals
The Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Energy, Maroš Šefčovič will be bringing the Energy Union Tour to Malta on the 9 November 2015. The Energy Union Tour is an initiative undertaken by Vice-President Šefčovič with the aim of conveying in person what the Energy Union is about and why it matters so much not only at a European level but also to each and every one of the individual Member States.
The overarching objective of the Energy Union is to bring to all Europeans energy which is secure, competitive, and sustainable by building an internal energy market based on solidarity and trust among Member States, on free flows of energy across borders, on putting energy efficiency first, on de-carbonising our economy, and on staying ahead of the curve by investing in research and innovation.
The Vice President will be meeting representatives from the Industry, Academia and Tertiary Students in a public dialogue.
A free shuttle service will be provided from the main gate of the University (near the Gateway Building) to the Valletta Campus and back at 0945hrs. Due to space limitations, interested participants are requested to confirm their attendance by calling on +356 2342 5100 or by email to comm-rep-mt@ec.europa.eu
