On 16 November 2017, students from schools in Malta and Gozo were invited to participate in the Universal Children鈥檚 Day activity organised by the President鈥檚 Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society in collaboration with Eurochild, entitled You Matter No Matter What.
This activity is part of a National campaign focusing on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC), with a special emphasis on article 12 which states that children have a right to give their opinion, and that adults must listen and take it seriously. After an animated discussion on children鈥檚 rights, resource packs including a t-shirt and paints were distributed to all schools.
Monday 11 December from 10:00 to 12:00, will bring all these schools from Malta and Gozo together again to follow up on what was discussed and learnt. A t-shirt conveying a message central to the UN CRC will be presented by each school. This event will mark the Anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights.
