Dr Christopher Buttigieg and Dr David Fabri are two of the participants at the next seminar organised by the Malta Law Academy in collaboration with the Malta European Law Association. The seminar which will deal with 'Corporate Insolvency Law and EU State Aid', will be held on Wednesday 21 February at the Chamber of Advocates, Courts of Justice, Valletta.
At the seminar, Dr David Fabri, Head of the Department of Commercial Law and member of the Advisory Board of the MLA, will give the opening address and introduce the speakers.
The main speaker at the seminar is Michael Anderson Schillig, Professor in International Commercial & Financial Law at King鈥檚 College London. He will talk about 'Corporate Insolvency Law and EU State Aid' and will delve into recent cases under the EU bank resolution regimes and the impact of the Directive on Bank Recovery and Resolution (BRRD) and Single European Mechanism (SRM). The talk is entitled 'Corporate Insolvency Law and EU State Aid - Recent Cases under the EU Bank Resolution Regimes and the impact of the BRRD/SRM'.
Dr Christopher Buttigieg, who lectures European and Comparative Law at UM will talk about 'EU Regulation and Supervision of Securities Business'. He will give a brief critical analysis of the challenges faced by national competent authorities of Small EU and EEA EFTA Member States.
