Eating words for love
The first season of Nuna Palk performances for children at Teatru Salesjan will come to a close in May with Land of the big word factory by Theatre Anon. Hailed as one of Malta’s most innovative theatre companies, Theatre Anon has devised an inventive performance with beautiful puppetry, music and live projections. The show presents an imaginary land where all words are produced in a huge word factory. No word may be spoken unless it is bought and swallowed. In this world, the rich get to speak more often and use more powerful words. Poorer people cannot afford to buy these words and must use more common, less effective words, if they can afford any words at all. A young boy, Phileas, must find his own way of expressing his love for a young girl Cybele. But what can he do when he can only afford a few words?
Land of the big word factory was premiered with critical acclaim at the ŻiguŻajg International Arts Festival for Children and Young People and is being co-presented by Teatru Salesjan and Culture Venture.
