An art exhibition fostering passion while breaking social stigmas
‘Hope in the Journey of Recovery’ will open on Friday 12 October at Mt Carmel Hospital in Attard. This is a collective exhibition between patients at Mt Carmel Hospital under the supervision of artist Matthew F. Cassar. The viewers will see ten large works of art done by patients at ten different wards at Mt Carmel Hospital. The paintings show a vibrant look at the passion and personal motives that these patients had to show. Everything is amalgamated with the artist’s colourful style making sure that the paintings were as fun to do as they are to watch as an end result.
This projects aims to drop the negative stigma that patients at such hospitals suffer from while giving a creative output to each participating patient. It is purposefully being held at the mental hospital in order to welcome visitors and show that as in any other hospital; here there is also hope for the full recovery of each patient.
‘Hope in the Journey of Recovery’ will officially open on 12 October at 20:00 and will run until 21 October. It will be open anytime in Mount Carmel Hospital’s main corridors. Mount Carmel Hospital is Malta’s primary mental hospital.
