Event: Interactive Webinar on Active Citizenship
Dates: Thursday 17 February
Time: 17:00 - 18:30
Venue: Online
Democracies require active citizens both inside and outside the political system to monitor the process and to be willing and able to act and create equal opportunities and rights for all.
Participating in a democratic system is not and should not be limited to elections every 4 years but involves being active on a number of fronts; petitions, volunteering, political engagement.
But then, why do people become disengaged? What are the challenges in Malta when it comes to active citizenship? Are other member states faced with similar challenges? Are there any solutions moving forward?
Hosting this webinar, Leyla Sehic Relic, President of Centre for European Volunteering (CEV), will be addressing these questions and more.
