Announcing an Exhibition highlighting the folk music of Gozo

The festival exhibition highlights the folk music of Gozo from medieval times to the present day – the sister island, albeit boasting a music history running in parallel to Malta, has retained most of its local folk characteristics.

Focusing on instruments used in Gozo, the instrument builders and the groups of musicians that accompanied the locals through life’s joys and sorrows along the years, the exhibition seeks to rekindle an interest in instruments not in use anymore whilst showcasing others still contributing towards the ongoing cultural sector.
