The Embassy of Ireland to the Republic of Malta, in collaboration with the University of Malta, will hold an event on 31 October 2023 to mark this historic landmark, reflecting on the impact of EU membership and future challenges, including enlargement of the Union.
The talk will be opened (with an online opening address) by the European Ombudsman, Irishwoman, Emily O’Reilly.

Also at the Valletta Campus, the Irish Embassy will showcase an exhibition from 30 October to 3 November. Ireland’s EU50 exhibition is marking key milestones towards our membership and into our first year of membership including fifty years since Ireland voted by referendum to join the EEC in 1972. The exhibition is open to the public and has no admission fees.
