Have you ever wondered how ancient structures, standing for millennia, can be protected from the relentless forces of nature? The MEGALITH project aims to investigate and characterise the environmental processes that contribute to the degradation of the Globigerina Limestone at the Mnajdra Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The presentation will detail how numerical simulations and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models are used to map meteorological conditions to stone degradation processes. Talks will be delivered by by as well as , followed by a discussion with the attendees.
This multidisciplinary effort, supported by Heritage Malta, represents a significant advancement in heritage conservation.
Join us on Tuesday 1 April 2024, at 19:00, at Studio B, Spazju Kreattiv St James Cavalier, Valletta for a presentation on the MEGALITH project. Funded under MCST鈥檚 Fusion R&I Research Excellence Programme, this project aims to protect the Mnajdra Temples using advanced AI and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
