As from October 2012, the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (DIME) at the University of Malta, has been coordinating a project titled 'Exploiting Multi-Material Micro Injection Moulding for Enhancing Manufacturing Competitiveness (EX-MMIM)'.
This project is funded by the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST), through the National Research & Innovation Programme 2012. The main objective of the EX-MMIM project is to generate and transfer new knowledge between academia and industry on multi-material micro injection moulding. The industrial partners in this project are Tek-Moulds Precision Engineering Ltd, Techniplast Group of Companies Ltd and Playmobil Malta Ltd.

The project is on the way to be successfully closed and all deliverables will be ready by October of this year. A free seminar is being organised to disclose the project results on Thursday 22 October 2015.
