'' is the latest film by the South Korean director Hong Sang-soo. The movie is at once a comedy of manners and an oblique commentary on the power of cinema to expose and alter reality. Starring French actress Isabelle Huppert in the role of Frenchwoman Anne attracting the attention of the clumsy lifeguard (Yu Jungsang) this movie provides us with a unique perspective into cultural flows. The once ardent West-to-East influence takes on a form of mutual cross-cultural encounter.
The film will be screened on Thursday 25 May, at 17:30 in Lecture Theatre 1 (LT1), University of Malta Msida Campus. Entrance is free of charge. The free film screening will be followed by a discussion led by Dr Eun-Jee Park (Busan University of Foreign Studies).
