Abstract
How the EU responds to the challenges posed by the ‘poly-crisis’ will define the next era of cooperation and integration in Europe. Rather than abandoning the European integration project, leaders should support a raft of initiatives to improve the security and livelihoods of citizens across Europe. And rather than ignoring dissent, the EU should be nimble and flexible in its approach to keep its constituents, i.e. the member states and the citizens, wedded to the project of European integration. The CEPS Task Force chaired by Danuta Hübner MEP proposes concrete ideas and recommendations to enhance the prosperity and security of European citizens – in ways beyond what the member states can offer, while restraining the institutions’ unnecessary meddling in national affairs.
