Speaker: Dr Attila Szab贸, Deputy Director of the Hungarian Theatre Museum and Institute, Budapest and senior lecturer at the K谩roli G谩sp谩r University of the Reformed Church (Budapest)
This seminar will discuss some of the current problems faced by museology based on the experience of the Hungarian Theatre Museum and Institute in Budapest and on recent research and documentation projects on theatre history from Hungary and the Central European region. The speaker will present some digital collection development practices with regard to historical data, together with some examples of how this corpus can be used for theatre research and documentation.
Attila Szab贸 graduated in 2006 from the Pannonian University (Veszpr茅m). In 2018 he defended his PhD at the Doctoral School of Literary Sciences of the University of P茅cs. Between 2013-2014 he was a Fulbright researcher at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, CUNY, New York. He is an active member of STEP (Project on European Theatre Systems), a research group of theatre sociology. In 2018 he received the K谩roly Pulszky Award for the achievements of promising young museologists. He has recently published two volumes, Az eml茅kezet sz铆npadai (Stages of Memory) and A val贸s sz铆nterei (Staging the Real) both in 2019.
