The Department of Communications & Computer Engineering will be participating at Space Week at the Dubai EXPO, with a seminar titled Exploiting Satellite Technology for the Benefit of Humanity on Wednesday 20 October 2021, 13:30 GST (Dubai), 11:30 CEST (Malta).
The Dean of the Faculty of ICT, Prof. Ing. Carl Debono and the Head of the Department of Communication & Computer Engineering, Prof. Johann Briffa will start off the event.
Introductions by Prof. Ing. Debono and Prof. Briffa will be followed by an overview of five current projects involving satellite technology. The presentations will be given by the principal investigators of each of these five research projects:
- SAT-FIRE – Dr Ing. Gianluca Valentino
- WARM-EO – Prof. Reuben A Farrugia
- Coastal SAGE – Dr Ing. Gianluca Valentino
- MITA-ARS – Prof. Johann Briffa
- High Throughput Satellites – Dr Hector Fenech
