The has been organising the HUMS Yuletide Symposium and Social Event since 2012, except for last year when it went amiss due to the upheavals caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, entitled 'Bridges and Spaces – Reconnecting with HUMS', the symposium will be held on Monday 6 December at 18:00, at the Arts Lecture Theatre, followed by a social seasonal reception in the Arts Foyer. The Symposium will be chaired and moderated by Professor Clare Vassallo, Coordinator for HUMS Platform at UM.
The 20-minute presentations by the four speakers are based on their research interests:
- Professor Joseph J. Borg: When Biomedical Science meets Space Science.
- Mr David Cardona, Curator, Heritage Malta: The New Neolithic Discoveries at Tas-Silġ
- Professor John Abela: What are Algorithms? And how are they Different to Conventional Algorithms?
- Dr Sandro Lanfranco: Guido Lanfranco: His Life and Work
Dr Gordon Caruana Dingli will present his recent publication We Went to the Moon regarding the first landing on the moon from a Malta point of view.
All interested individuals will need to register by sending an email to Ms Charlene Schiavone.
