Nowadays, there is a general consensus about the need for green buildings, an energy and water efficient building where construction waste is minimized. Since we spend most of our time indoors, Covid-19 pandemic and new lifestyles are showing us the importance of healthy and comfortable buildings as drivers for improved human performance and overall wellbeing. In this view the concept of Green Buildings is not sufficient anymore to address them but rather a wider sustainability perspective has to be opened and implemented stemming from the principles of Regenerative design.
This presentation will introduce the science and the way to measure quantitatively Indoor Environmental Quality parameters under the international building rating scheme called Well Building Standard Fitwell.
Architect Luca Caruso holds an M.Sc.in Architecture and Building Engineering (Italy), is Chartered Engineer, Perit and a Fitwell Ambassador. He is a Research Support Officer II at the Environmental Design Department Faculty for the Built Environment, University of Malta.
