This Research Dissemination Seminar is being organised by the Department of Health, Physical Education and Consumer Studies (DHPECS) at the Faculty of Education.
Over the past months’ research was conducted by the Department of Health, Physical Education and Consumer Studies with the elderly as well as stakeholders working in the sector.
The objectives were:
- to provide a comprehensive picture of services being offered to the elderly to facilitate physical activity, adequate nutrition, and mental and socio-emotional health and to understand better the challenges stakeholders working with the elderly face when running such programmes:
- to explore and delve deeper into the needs, and challenges experienced by the elderly with respect to being physically active, being socially included and engaged, and obtaining adequate nutrition.
