Speakers' Bio:
Dr Peter Nydahl - University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein Kiel, Germany
Peter worked on ICU for 30 years and always tried to start rehabilitation of patients as early as possible. He started studying nursing research beside his practical work and performed many interprofessional research projects. The focus of his work is on holistic critical care rehabilitation including early mobilisation, delirium prevention and therapy, family integration, and ICU diaries. He lives with his wife in Kiel, Germany, at the Baltic Sea, loves running in the morning and is the proud granddad of five (yes!) grandchildren.
Mr Jason Beeching, United Kingdom
Jason - the story of a sepsis survivor.
In November 2015 Jason was perfectly fit and well. 48 hours after thinking he had a cold, he was critically ill with sepsis.
This life changing experience has left him with many observations during his treatment and rehabilitation, which he has shared with many healthcare students and staff. He hopes this will help patients in the future.
