Ever wondered what it’s like to be an interpreter?
Interpreters make communication more accessible, travelling the world and playing a key role in negotiations and decision-making.
Get an insight into the work of interpreters through interactive memory and note-taking exercises, step inside the booths and try your hand at simultaneous interpreting, and ask a European Commission staff interpreter everything you’ve always wanted to know about this fascinating career.
Join us at the recently upgraded Interpreters’ and Audiovisual Translation Laboratory, which boasts state-of-the-art audio-video and interpreting equipment to facilitate both online and remote interpretation, and become an interpreter for the day!
This initiative, organised by the University’s Department of Translation, Terminology & Interpreting Studies, aims to give students interested in pursuing a career in interpreting an inside view of this fascinating profession.
