Seven JC students and two lecturers represented the College at Euroweek. An international event, held each year since 1992, where European schools take turns to hold Euroweek each year. This time around, this major event took place in Rankweil, Austria and was attended by over 200 students from 22 different European countries. Along with the other school groups, the Maltese representatives from Junior College gave a video presentation specifically made for this occasion, and set up a Maltese table with local and traditional delicacies for all to savour during the international night.
The highlights of the visit included mountain hikes and visits to Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein. The week-long activities also included workshops that varied from discussion groups on various themes focused on active citizenship and climate change, as well as hands-on activities such as wood carving, basic notions in electrical engineering, building construction and others.
The Maltese students found the experience highly interesting and intellectually motivating. Undoubtedly, this was an intercultural experience where students had the opportunity to share ideas and listen to different perspectives from all over Europe.
The Junior College, with the collaboration of the Euro-Centre and tutors of Geography and History coordinated this activity for the second consecutive time.
