A press conference was held on Monday 5 August at JC, by the Junior College Principal, together with Parliamentary Secretary for Youths, Sports and Voluntary Organisations Dr Clifton Grima, the Permanent Secretary Dr Francis Fabri, and the National Sport School Head, Mr Robert Magro.
The press conference addressed the number of opportunities young people now have in continuing their studies at JC. In fact, from next academic year, a greater number of students who have completed compulsory education with the National Sport School, as well as professional student athletes, will be able to continue training while studying at Junior College through a study tailor-made for them. These students will have a specific timetable allowing them to continue their training programme with the National Sports Federation while studying for their Matriculation certificate.
A new study will also be offered to students who are aged at least 18 when applying and have an ordinary level certificate in Maltese, English Language and Mathematics equivalent to grade 5 or better.
A third new is intended for students who want to continue studying abroad after obtaining the Matriculation Certificate.
