The Junior College Diversity Working Group considers diversity to be both an implicit value as well as an explicit practice in all that it stands for, and in all its practices and activities. In keeping with the Mission Statement and the ethos of the College, the Diversity Working Group strives to ensure that the College community embraces the inherent worth of individuals in an atmosphere of mutal respect and cooperation.
The objectives of the Diversity Working Group are:
- to cultivate and disseminate the value of diversity among students and staff of the Junior College by means of different initiatives in order for this to be reflected at all levels and areas of the operations of the College;
- to create a College community which embraces and represents numerous identities including, but not limited to, gender, race, religion, belief, sexual orientation, geographic origin, socioeconomic background, ideology, age and varied abilities;
- to offer support and assistance to those who seek help for any reason related to any aspect of diversity.
