The course Introduction to Post-Secondary Pedagogy organised by the Professional Development (PD) Committee for new members of staff is currently in its seventh week. The first session allowed the participants to familiarise themselves with the Junior College policies. The following sessions dealt with a variety of engaging themes. The topics which have been discussed so far are:
- Practitioner Research
- Reflective Practice
- Online and Blended Learning Pedagogies
- Assessment for Learning
- Pedagogical Content Knowledge.
The remaining presentations and discussions will deal with:
- Relevance of Studies and Student Engagement
- Classroom Management and Practices
- Students’ feedback on Teaching and Learning
- The Implementation of the Universal Design for Learning Framework in class
All presenters are lecturers at the Junior College.
