We understand that the pandemic has left and is still carving its marks in us all. In the past two years, we had to resort to online teaching and learning. Assessment then became the most important tool we all had to monitor your progress and continuous formation. In fact most of you benefitted from this system.
Now that we are gradually emerging from this state of emergency, you are realising that the matriculation examinations are behind the corner. Studying is but a part in the preparation for examinations. Examination skills are typically acquired with practice and we know that we need to help you in this matter. This is the main reason why second-year students at JC are given the opportunity of a taking place 06-14 December 2021.
It is strongly recommended that you approach this practice with full commitment. Together with your tutors you may then identify your strengths and address those weaknesses in the remaining months of the second-year to help you sharpen the necessary skills in time for the matriculation examinations. Look at this practice week as another opportunity to grow, mature and master your subjects. In fact these tests will be carrying 60% of your assessment.
The test practice is offered only for advanced subjects and Systems of Knowledge, which has been included in the test practice week. Preparation for the remaining intermediate subject will be covered in class as instructed by your tutors from time to time. All other timetabled sessions - lectures, tutorials, seminars and practicals - will be suspended during the test practice week so that you may focus on these skills.
