A group of five students from the Department of Foreign Languages of the Junior College have visited the Open Day organised the Department of Middle Eastern & Asian Languages & Cultures at the University of Malta on Tuesday 28 February 2023.
The students, who are particularly fond of Chinese language and culture and attend the Additional Language courses at College, met up with university students studying Chinese at UM, as well as Dr Nengwen Ji and Dr Dennis Mizzi, the co-directors of the Confucius Institute in Malta. The Open Day presented a varied programme of lectures on the ancient languages studied in this Department, followed by a series of practical workshops, food tasting sessions, and ancient calligraphy activities, amongst others.
The students were accompanied by the Subject Coordinator for Foreign Languages, Dr Karl Chircop.
