On Wednesday 16 November 2022, members of the Environmental Committee organized an event to raise awareness concerning the inhumane treatment of marine creatures. About seventy students attended a viewing of the 2009 American documentary The Cove where the senseless slaughter of dolphins in Taiji Beach, Japan, was highlighted.
The film was followed by an enlightening talk with the Commissioner for Animal Welfare Alison Bezzina, who sought to stress the need for animal activism. Afterwards, Katya Borg, a representative from Animal Liberation Malta (ALM), urged students not to turn a blind eye to the suffering experienced by dolphins in Maltese aquatic enclosures.
