Stefan Cassar has won the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for April. He was given this award after he broke the U18 2000m Steeplechase National Record setting a time of 6:31.16.
Stefan is a Junior College Physical Education student who has been practising Athletics for 11 years. He mainly focuses on Long distance and hurdle events like 10km, 5km, Steeplechase and 400m Hurdles. Having been introduced to Athletics back in 2012, he is currently coached by Mr Mario Pisani, who introduced him to the Steeplechase. Stefan looks forward to representing Malta over the next few months and hopefully winning a few medals. He also wants to break more records over other events and improve his 10km record.
Well done, and good luck Stefan!
