Junior College participated in this year’s Science in The City held at Fort St Elmo, Valletta. Staff and students braved the weather and set up their stand in Piazza Cavalier at the far end of St Elmo.
Unfortunately, the predicted bad weather for the day showed its strength at the time when the event opened in the evening with wind gusts going up to 43 knots hitting the place. This made it very difficult for all the students and staff on site to showcase their work and activities that had been prepared from months ahead. The funnelling winds in the area toppled over the tables which were set up for the event and the occasional showers and lighting made life extremely difficult for our participants.
As a result, it was decided that the risks that they were being exposed to were too much and it was decided to leave the place after an hour. This was a sour experience for all those who were planning a great evening.
A word of thanks to all our heroes who took part in this year’s event.
